rHE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE COLONIAL SUGARS HIGHER Moderate business was transacted on lie Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, nd although price movements were of airly narrow extent seven rises were ecorded in eight new levels. Commercials of Australia were dealt n unchanged at 15s, and, although holders idvanced their price to 15s 2d during the lay, further supplies were available at Lss at tho final call. New Zealands were lealt in twice 2d firmer at 47s 6d, which . ,vas forthcoming for more. A rise of 2s :ook placo in Uriions, which were placed it £7 14s. Firm levels were maintained ior insurance shares and New Zealands were done unaltered at 435. In loan and agency improved support was forthcoming for Loan and Mercantiles, offers being lifted £2 10s to £47 10s at tho final call. Auckland Gas were secured Is lower nt 21s without satisfying requirements. A marked upward movement was registered in Colonial Sugars, which were turned over at £4B 10s t an advance of £2 2s 6d. More were wanted at £4B ss, with, sellers continuing to ask £SO. Farmers' Tradings were done unaltered at 3s 6d, and Wilsons Cements movod up 3d to change hands at 33s 3d. Upward movements predominated in mining. Blackwaters attained a new high level' on sale lOd higher at 19s. Waihis wero dealt in twice at- 17s, a rise of a penny, and a similar appreciation took place in Waihi Junctions, which had sale at, 3s 3d. Mount Lyells were steady at 21s.
