CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS PRINCE GEORGE IN SCOTLAND (Received September 22, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON", Sept. 21 The Sir Walter Scott centenary celebrations came to a climax in Scotland tonight. The whole of the border country was ablaze with beacons.
Prince George attended a memorial service in St. Giles", Edinburgh, and later laid a wreath at tho Scott memorial in the presence of a great gathering of Scotsmen—including peers, churchmen, judges, professors, magistrates—who afterwards had luncheon in Parliament Hall.
In the evening the Prince attended a pageant performed by 1400 Edinburgh school children at Waverley Market, whore scenes from Scott's novels were enacted.
