ORIGINAL ENTERTAINMENT
AUCKLAND PIANO STUDENTS An original form of entertainment was presented by the Auckland Piano Students* Association at a " Ghost Night," held in the Lewis Eady Hall last night. The first half of the evening comprised items all dealing with ghosts and the supernatural. The correct atmosphere was given each item by the use of a spotlight and shadow effect. The president, Miss Joyce Parker, appeared first on the stage, cowled in ghostly white, and welcomed the visitors, who completely filled the hall. The programme was commenced with an exciting ghost etory read by Mr. Lon Barnes, and was followed by the song " The Night Wind," by Miss Gwenda Weir; pianoforte solo, " The Haunted House" (McDowell), by Miss Joyce Parker; songs, " The Wraith " and " The Midnight Review," by Mr. Len Barnes; dance, " The Spook Dance," by Misses Kathleen and Pat Boyle; pianoforte solo, "The Erl King" (Schubcrt-Liszt), by Miss Mamie Reid; song, " The Shadow March," by Miss Doris Bransgrove; sketch, " The Ghosts' Trade," by Messrs. Barnes, senior and junior; pianoforte solo, " Valso TristJe " (Sibelius), by Miss E. Nops; song, "Who is Sylvia?" (Schubert), by Mr. 11. Belshaw.
