THE WARO COLLIERY
SITUATION UNCHANGED [from our own correspondent] "WHANGAREL Thursday Waro Co-operative Collieries, Ltd., has been unsuccessful in its tender for 900 tons of coal weekly for the New Zealand railways. The successful tenderer was Wilton Collieries, Ltd. The deputation from the district which recently waited upon the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, in regard to assistance for Waro Collieries, placed the tender for the collieries while in Wellington. The position at the Waro mine remains unchanged and the pumps are still in operation pending further representations being made to the Government.
