CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY Two fine contests wero witnessed by a largo attendance at tlio Central Billiards rooms last evening, when tlio snooker championship tournament was continued. E. Burleigh defcatod C. Stone _in two straight Karnes. Both contestants delighted tho spec-, tators with their clean potting. The scores were Burleigh, f>2 and 15(3 against 60 and 41. T. Lawson defeated G. Basham in two straight gamos, tho final scores being:— Lawson. B0 and 59 against 43 and 41. The tournament will bo continued next Monday night, when L. Burke will meet T. Goulding and G. Cornish will play Sommer ville. * TRANSPORT CLUB'S TOURNEY A very keenly-contested snooker tourney conducted by the Auckland Transport Club concluded last evening at tho Gaunt Street club room, when G. Arniilage, Gaunt Street Depot, defeated .T. Knowles, Epsom Depot, after two close and very interesting games.
