DISPLAYS OF FLOWERS
CAMBRIDGE DAFFODIL SHOW RECORD NUMBER OF ENTRIES [rttoM orn own coiikespondknt] CAMBRIDGE, Thursday, Tho Cambridge Daffodil Society's 26th annual show was opened to-day and will be continued to-morrow. There was a record display of 241* entries, apart from the cut flower and decorative sections. There wore 34 exhibitors of daffodils from Auckland, Huntly, Hamilton, To A roll a, To Awamutu, To Ktiiti and Waitoa. The judges were the, Rev. W. Ayery, of Auckland, and Mesdames O'Sullivan and Downes, of 1© Awamutu. Following were tho champion daffodil awards: —-Long trumpet, Mr. G. Yarrell »• (Waitoa); Earrii, Mr. H. M. Hammond (Hamilton); Incomparabilis, Mr. H. M. Hammond; Leedsii, Mr. G. Yarrell. Novice Champions.—Long trumpet, Mr. T. Simpson (Hamilton); Incomparabilis, Mr. C. Hodgson (Hamilton); Barrii, Mr. T. Simpson; Leedsii, Mr. T. Simpson. The points' prize in tho daffodil section was won by Mr. H. M. Hammond, of Hamilton. ' FIXTURE AT TAURANGA - 1 HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY ! [from: our own correspondent] ■ TAURANGA, Thursday Excellent entries were received for the Tauranga Horticultural and Beautifying Society's spring flower show. The opening ceremony was performed by the president, Mr. B. C. Itobbins. Daffodils were the main feature. The champion trumpet daffodil was exhibited by Mr. D. H. L, Corrigan. The championship for daffodils, other than trumpet, was awarded to the Rev. A. L. Withoford, of Te Puke.
