CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY ; - 1 ~ ~~ A good attendance at the Central Billiards rooms fully appreciated some fine I contests, when the snooker championship tourney was continued last evening. J. Dryland defeated W: King in two straight games, the brown ball being the deciding factor in both oases. Dryland's Bcorea were 70 and 66, and W. King's 44 and 54. Another good contest was fought out between W. Myers and A. King, Myers proving a good potter and defeating his opponent comfortably. The scores were 71 and GB. against 32* and 21. E. Smith defeated R. Rose by two games to one. The balls seemed to favour Smith, and neither showed anjr brilliancy. The final Bcores were:—E. Smith, 32, 70 and 54; R. Rose, 44, 46 and 40. E. V. Roberts will meet J. Carr this evening, and R. Harding will play Petersen. TEAM TOURNAMENT. The teams' tournament held at J. Phillips' room was continued last evening when teams captained by W. Knott and L. Adams met, the latter team winning by 645 to 605. The games between C. Broomfield and Adams were very spectacular, the former winning by a narrow margin. Davis beat Knott in three straight games. Basham beat. Turnbull by two games to one. Somerville and Myers played a closely-contested game, the former winning, by a small margin.
