UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM
VISIT OF MR. JESSEP INDEFINITELY POSTPONED The visit of the deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, Mr. J. S. Jessep, to Auckland has been postponed indefinitely, as Mr. Jessep has been called to Wairoa to inquire into the conditions following the earthquake there. Mr. Jessep was coming to Auckland to discuss with Mayors and chairmen of local bodies "the sustenance allowance and unemployment problems generally, and a conference was to have been held to-morrow afternoon.
