ENGLISH MAIL EARLY
LINER AHEAD OF SCHEDULE OPPORTUNITY FOR REPLIES A large quantity of English and American mail _ arrived at Wellington from San Francisco by the Royal Mail liner Monowai yesterday morning. The mail included 25 bags of letters and 199 bags of second-class matter for Auckland and it will reach here by the limited express this morning. The Monowai arrived a day earlier than scheduled and consequently the mail will reach Auckland 24 hours earlier than was expected. This will allow answers to the mail to be despatched for America or Europe by the Royal Mail liner Niagara, which will leave Auckland for Vancouver at eleven o'clock to-morrow morning. The mail will close at ten o'clock and late fee at half-past ten.
