HELD FAST ON SANDBANK 1 REFLOATED AT HIGH TIDE WANGANUI HARBOUR MISHAP. [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ■WANGANTJI, Sunday The Bank Line steamer Tymeric, 5228 grounded on a sandbank inside the moles at the entrance to the Wanganui River yesterday morning. She was refloated undamaged at 10.30 last night, half an hour before the tide reached its height. The vessel/ which was drawing 17ft., narrowly missed the rocks at the foot of the south mole when'she struck, and then swung broadside on to tile current. A tug was in attendance at the time, and the vessel was finally secured in a safe position with her bows facing the entrance. Lines were got on to the mole and, although there were some mishaps owing to three hawsers breaking, the vessel was held fast. When the tide rose she was towed in to Castlecliff Wharf stern first with the incoming current. The Tymeric, which had a cargo of 3700 tons of phosphate rock for Kempthorne, Prosser and Company, Limited, was entering the harbour to berth for unloading at Castlecliff Wharf. She was being kept as far as possible toward the 'south mole in order to avoid a south-easterly wind which was blowing broadside on.

The Tymeric is owned by the Bank Line, Limited, Glasgow. The vessel arrived at New Plymouth from Nauru Island on September 8 with about 8000 tons of phosphates. After unloading over 4000 tons she ieft New Plymouth for Wanganui on Wednesday to complete dicharge. Owing to bad weather on the west coast she was delayed outside Wanganui on Thursday and Friday.
