MANUFACTURERS' POLICY MINISTER'S STRAIGHT TALK (Received September 4, 5.5 p.m.) TORONTO. Sept. 3 Declaring that the Canadian manufacturer was following a "lone wolf" policy in foreign trade, the Minister of Trade and Commerce, Mr. H. H. Stevens, read a lecture to a gathering of industrial interests to-day. Manufacturers were leaning on the Government too much and were not making the most of their opportunities abroad, said Mr. Stevens. Products inferior to Canadian were being 6old under their noses. "If wo cannot afford to maintain own salesmen abroad we should act cooperatively," he concluded.
