SATURDAY'S SALES RETURN ON INVESTMENTS Following is a list of Saturday's transactions on New Zealand Stock Exchanges. In tho second column is given the return, based on the last annual dividend, from investment at tho quoted price. In tho case of Government and other redeemable securities no return is given, in view of tho now method of quotation, but the months in which interest is duo are shown. THE LONDON MARKETS FROZEN MEAT (Received September 4, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 3 The weekly quotations for the undermentioned classes of frozen meat , are based on actual sales of wholesale quantities of carcases of mutton or lamb or of quarters of beef delivered to Smithfield market, and/or London stores. They are compiled by the Quotations Committee, Smithfield, To arrive at the equivalent ex ship values, one farthing per pound should be deducted from tho prices quoted below. Quotations given represent the average for the week and are not selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of shipments now on offer. MEAT MARKET BRIGHTER BETTER DEMAND IN LONDON The Bank of New Zealand has received the following report from its London office as at the close of business last week:— Wethers-: Smaller supplies have caused prices to harden. Ewes: The market is quiet but firm. Lambs: The mnrket is firm and there is a good demand. Trade generally is brighter, with a better demand.
