THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE FIRM LEVELS MAINTAINED Steady business was maintained at the single call on the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday morning, with values very firm. A steady range of inquiry continued for Government loans, hut few requirements received satisfaction. Business was done in 1939 4j per cent stock unaltered at £95 7s 6d, and there was a transaction in 1937 5Jj per cent September stock 27s'' 6d lower at £9B 17s 6d, in comparison with tho last sale which was made cum interest at the end of last month. The stock was quoted tx interest on September 1. Another sharp advance was registered in Commercial Bank of Australia in dealing at 14s 7d and 14s Bd, a rise of 4d at the latter price. New Zealands wero secured at 47s 9d, slightly easier than Friday's best price. Offers for other issues were firm.

In loan and agoncy New Zealand Guarantee Corporations were done fractionally better at 5s lid, and in breweries New Zealands were lifted 5d on sale at 27s 6d. Firm inquiry was maintained in miscellaneous for all the leading issues. Tho mining section was quiet, with little material alteration in levels. CLOSING QUOTATIONS.
