GRAMMAR SCHOOL CADETS

CAMP AT NARROW NECK WEEK'S COURSE OF TRAINING . Nearly 100 non-commissioned officers and cadet gunners from the Auckland Grammar School cadet battalion went into a voluntary camp at Narrow Neck on Saturday afternoon for a week's cours* of general training. The idea of hold* ing the camp originated with the boys, and they are paying for all their rations and the wages of their civilian cooks. Yesterday morning a church parada was held at the Devonport Presbyterian Church, where the Rev. W. Lawson Marsh preached on the opportunities of youth. The lesson was read by SergeantMajor After lunch, leave granted to the boys. To-day's programme of training includes 'gun drill and riding, as well as physical exercises and sports activities. Entertainments have been' arranged for most evenings of the week.
