PRESENTATION

Prior to their departure for Albany Mr. and Mrs. L. Cowley, who had been associated with tlia Government experimental farm at Puwera, near Whangarei, for 13 years, were entertained by the settlers of the district. On behalf of the settlers Mr. 11. Long presented Mr. Cowley with a travelling rug and Mrs. Cowley with an eight-day clock, and a quilt each to their two children. Mr. Long said that during his residence in the district Mr. Cowley had identified himself with all matters of interest to the public, and on various occasions had been a member of the school committee. Mrs. Cowley had always taken part in social functions, and their departure from the district was sincerely regretted.
