WAKATERE CANOE CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD A large of members as well as residents of Narrow Neck attended ■ the annual meeting of the Wakatere Canoe Club, held in the beach hall last evening. Mr. J. Brooke presided. The report showed the club to be in a sound financial position, the membership having increased in the past six months to double that of the previous season. The introduction of the new one-design sailing boat in place of the canvas canoe for the coming season was very promising. A number of boats were under construction and about 40 would be used in the coming season. The Speedwell Clip donated by Walker and Hall for inter-club competition was presented by Mr. J. Hislop. Racing will start early in October and t6n boats will be completed by then. .. _ The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr, J. Hislop; commodora. Mr. A. Williamson, vice-commodore, Mr. E. Grut; rear-commodore, Mr. N. Wing: secretary and treasurer. Mr. S. RicJhardson: assistant,Mr. J. Hunt; president, Mr. J. Brooke; vice-presidents, Messrs. E. Rewcastle, E. Kecley, W. Buckley, -T.
