NEW SOUTHERN CROSS
VOYAGE FROM ENGLAND VESSEL REPORTED FROM COLON The Melunesian Mission's new twinscrew motor-vessel Southern Cross is reported to have reached Colon last Thursday, en route from England to Auckland. The vessel is to visit Auckland before she proceeds to the South-west Pacific Islands, where she will be stationed. She has been built to replace the steamer Southern Cross, which has been withdrawn from commission and is laid up at Auckland. The new vessel is expected to reach Auckland about September 28.
