REVISION AT MORRINSVILLE [from our own correspondent] MORRINSVILLE, Saturday The Morrinsville Borough Council has been advised by the Valuer-General that arrangements are being made for a revision of the valuation roll for the borough with a view to' making the new values available for next year's rating. A special meeting of the council is to be held to discuss the question of the derating of land and the raising of revenue for roads by means of motor taxation alone. The view was expressed by several mombers that derating should apply to boroughs as well as farm lands. Gratification was expressed by members of the council at the announcement that the Minister of Lands had stated that amendments to the Valuation of Land Act would fee made and that he fully recognised the disabilities under sections 45 and a) of the Act. The total unimproved rateable value of the borough fell from £223,890 in 1926, when the whole borough was reyalued, to £209,750 in 1931, as a result of applications under sections .45 and 50 of the Act.
