PROTEST BY WORKERS
" POLITICAL " SENTENCES A protest against the sentences of imprisonment recently passed on "political prisoners" was embodied in a resolution carried at a public meeting conducted by the Labour Defence League in Victoria Park yesterday. It was decided to forward (o the Minister of Justice, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, and the Leader of the Opposition. Mr. H. E. Holland," the following opinion That this mass meeting, representativel of every section of working class political opinion, protests against the continued persecution of politicallyactive workers, and demands the cessation of this policy, the repeal of the War Regulations Continuance Act, and the immediate release of all political prisoners. There was an attendance of about. 200 people.
