ENGLISH CRICKETERS

MATCHES IN NEW ZEALAND

SECOND TEST AT AUCKLAND

[by telegraph—OWN* con respondent] WELLINGTON. Tuesday

After much negotiation the M.C.C. has agreed to the following itinerary of matches for its louring team in New Zealand :

v. Wellington, at Wellington, on March 21 and 22. v. New Zealand, at Christehurch, on March 24, 25 and 27. v. New Zealand, at Auckland, on April 1, 3 and 4. The final communication from England contains approval of these fixtures, with the following comment: —

The MIC.C. considers it has given a great concession in playing three, matches and the best it could arrange was two days at Wellington. It was utterly ifnpossihle to arrauge extra matches, as the Marylebone and county captains already have done an unprecedented action m permitting tho late return of the team.

The New Zealand Council slated that it had now no alternative but to accept the decision ot the M.C.0., more particularly ar Mr. A. T. Donnelly, when in England, asked for two matches only, and the M.O.C. had conceded the privilege of a third match, but the council had had to agree tr thi» being one of two days only.
