DISTRICT NURSING
THE HOSPITAL SERVICE
ST. JOHN AMBULANCE WORK
A decision to continue its district nursing service along existing lines was made by the Auckland Hospital Board yesterday, acting on a report from the House Committee, which had conferred on the matter with representatives of the St. John Ambulanco Association.
The committee reported that complaints regarding overlapping of services had been investigated The position was that the St. John Ambulance Association employed two trained nurses and one partly trained, and had been conducting its nursing service for 12 years. It was stated that there was some overlapping which might be avoided by division of work. The committee expressed appreciation of the work being performed by the association and recommended that the board, in continuing its own Hospital Patients Nursing Service, should cooperate, with the association as far as possible.
