HOSPITAL FINANCE
INCREASE IN OVERDRAFT
CITY MISSION CLINIC
Authority to increase its bank overdraft to £8.0,000 until September 30 was granted to the Auckland Hospital Board in a letter received at a meeting of the board yesterday from the Minister of Health, the Hon. J. A. Young. The chairman, Mr. W. Wallace, mentioned the necessity of this some time ago, in view of tlie late payments of the annual levy by local authorities. A request was also received by the board yesterday from the Auckland City Mission for a grant of £2O a month toward the expenses of the mission medical clinic. While members of the board spoke in appreciation of the work being done by the mission in this direction, it was held that the board had to bear the expense of its own clinic and was not in a position to give assistance.
