OFFICIAL RESIGNS
CASE OF C. J. GOODE S COMMISSION'S FINDING (Received July 28, 6.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 28 The Chief Transport Commissioner, C. J. Goode, whom the Royal Commission in • its report yesterday found guilty of serious misconduct when in the railway service, tendered his resignation this afternoon to the Minister of Transport, Mr. M. Bruxner. Goode's letter of resignation contained the following passage: —"I feel that tho terms of the Royal Commissioner's report leave me no alternative but to resign my office." Mr. Bruxner comments that tho report completely vindicates the present Government. Tho former Chief Railway Commissioner, Mr. W. J. Cleary, whom Mr. Lang retired, will be reinstated in his original position, also Mr. S. Maddocks, chairman of the Metropolitan Transport Trust. Amending legislation will be passed -for tliid purpose
