DEVONPORT SHIELD CONTEST The second senior grade hockey contest of the season, the Devonport Shield competition, will be commenced at Remuera at 3.5 o'clock to-morrow. Only five tennis hove entered. Wesley withdrawing from the prade. North Shore, which hns been considerably weakened by the absence of members with the New Zealand hockey team in Australia, hns reorganised its side, taking several players from the Wesley senior grade team. It will meet Mount Eden, while Somerville, which drew with University in a fast and even game last Saturday, will meet the students again. St. Luke's has a bye. A trial match will be played at 1.50 o'clock in preparation for the New Zealand Challenge Shield match with Poverty Bay, which will probably be played on August 13.
