USEFUL WORK ACCOMPLISHED GENERAL LU JUMPS WELL CROUPIER'S SHORT SPRINT BY ARCHER Somo useful work .was accomplished at Ellerslio yesterday, when tho No. 3 crass wne available for galloping. On the grass Hampton Park and the 1 antheon—lodine filly covered six furlongs in 1.25 2-5, the first three in 435. Hampton Park is bright and healthy and, the Pantheon filly is making very satisfactory progress. Croupier and Wcc Pat sprinted three furlongs in 41s. Croupier did his work well and he is in splendid order. Roynl Gallant strode along smoothly*in a useful working effort over six furlongs. He has not been asked any serious questions lately, but lie is in good health nq,d should bo ready early in the new seaßon. Patulnhi was in advance of On Approval at the end of Hix furlongs in 1.21 4-5. Patutahi lias freshened up sinco racing at the winter ifleeting and has been doing his work very satisfactorily. Iviltowyn, after running the first three in •lis, completed six furlongs in 1.24. Kiltowyn went well within himself and would have had no difficulty in recording better time. Corinax ran an easy six furlongs in 1,26. He has been doing his work well and present indications aro that he will come back as good as ever if ho keeps sound. Thespis and Haakon were allotted a working gallop over about a milo and a-half and they ran tho last round in 1.59 3-5. Theso hunters aro both doing well and they aro carrying moro muscle than wlieu they raced at the winter meeting. Moonfleet, after running tho first two in 26 3-ss, was going comfortably to complete six furlongs in 1.24 1-5. Moonfleot has brightened up a lot lately and should be ready for a good effort at his first appearance in the nev/ season. On tho eand Traced and Landlubber sprinted four furlongs in 52 2-ss. Landlubber has infused a fair amount of dash into the few sprints he lias had at headquarters. General Lu (Chaplin) was responsible for a good exhibition of fencing over .the steeplechase fences on tho flat. Town Bolle (It. Williams) began with him, but she attempted to run olf at tho first fence, tho sodwall, and in attempting to jump the wing fell heavily. She afterwards jumped a couple of hurdles safely.
