RELIEF GROCERY ORDERS
Sir, —I was very pleased to read that the Government has decided to allow the unemployed to get their relief groceries from any of the grocery stores in future, instead of the past unfair method of giving one firm the solo monopoly of this trade in Auckland. Local grocers will now be able to get their fair share of this trade and will, therefore, bo able to keep' their staffs in employment. This new arrangement will also help the many wholesale grocery warehouses to employ more hands, owing to the extra trade they will have in supplying all theso extra storekeepers with goods. I think those responsible must bo congratulated on their fine attempt to assist the unemployed and help the small grocers in theso hard times. Live and Let Live.
