INTERESTING OLD COINS
FAIRLY COMMON TYPES Two more old coins of interest have been reported by Herald readers. A silver shilling of the Queen Anne period is in the possession of an Epson, reader. It bears the date 1711, and is said to be in an excellent state of preservation, although there is a small hole in it. According to a local expert some of thp Queen Anne period shillings were struck in London and others in Edinburgh. They are not rare, and are worth from 2s to 4s according to condition. The other coin reported, is a half-farth-ing of the year 1843. The coins are fairly common, and are worth about 6d at present.
