BRIDGE AFTERNOON
A successful bridge afternoon was held by tlie Auckland branch of the Navy League in I lie Milne and Choyce Reception Hall yesterday in aid of the league funds. A lion I 34 tables were occupied by players, and the funds of the league were considerably augmented as a result of the function. A brief outline of the aims and objects of the Navy League was given by the chairman, Commander W. Connors, who apologised for the unavoidable absence of the president, Pay-master-Captain If. Cunliffc Parker. 'I lie members of the committer present were:— Mrs. It. 11. Gallaughei (chairman), Miss A. Hasten (vice-chairman), Mrs. J. A. F. Glasgow, Mrs. Cuinining, Mrs. T. Palmer, Mrs. M. Sliera and Miss Morton. The hostesses at each table were: Mrs. Aimer, Mrs. J. M. St renter, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Webber, Mrs. Mackay, Mrs. Hooper, Mrs. Birks, Mrs. Coutts, Miss Scott, Mrs. Willcoeks, Mrs. Western, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Gallauglier, Mrs. Neil Gallaiiglier, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. A. M. Seaman, Mrs. llurton, Miss Craven. Mrs'. Copeland, Mrs. McLean, Mrs. Purser, Mrs. T. Palmer, Mrs. Warnock, Mrs. Hill, Mrs.. Worfold, Mrs. Bhvke, Mrs. Cable, Mrs. Hindspn, Miss Gilmour, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Self, Mrs. I'enn; Mrs. Job►>on and Mrs. Colt man.
