MATAI'S MOVEMENTS The masler of tho Government steamer Matai, which was due at Onehunga from Northern lighthouses to-day, reported yesterday by wireless to the Marine Department that the vessel was returning to Cape Maria van Diemeu. H.M.S. DUNEDIN REPORTS H.M.S. Dunedin has reported by wireless that sho will arrive at eleven o'clock on Monday morning. Tho warship is returning to New Zealand after a stay of over a year in England .undergoing an extensive overhaul and refitting. THE WESTMORELAND To complete loading for London, Avonmoutli. Liverpool and Glasgow, tho Federal Line steamer Westmoreland is expected to sail for Gisborne. Napier and Wellington at eight o'clock this evening. From Wellington she is scheduled to sail for London on August 0. THE MAUNGANUI The Maunganui arrived at Wellington from Sydney yesterday morning and sailed for Auckland at eight o'clock last evening. ZEALANDIA AT SYDNEY The Huddart-Parker steamer Zealandia arrived at Sydney from Auckland at 10.15 o'clock yesterday morning, her arrival having been delayed by stormy weather and low visibility when she was nearing the Australian coast. Tho vessel is to sail on Friday for Wellington, where she is due on Tuesday morning.. THE GOLDEN COAST The American steamer Golden Coast is expected from Los Angeles to-day with cnTgo from Pacific Coast ports. WHANG ARE I SERVICE The Northern Company advises that the Claymore will lie withdrawn for. overhaul and survey on Saturday. She will bo replaced in the Auckland-Whangarei service by the motor-vessel, Motu. The Claymoro will resume running on August 11 and during tho time she is withdrawn no passengers will lie carried between Auckland and Whaligarei. CAPTAIN MACMILLAN'S DEATH Captain Donald Macmillan. a well-known New Zealand Shipping Company master, died of heart failure at Bowmore, Islcy. Argyllshire, on June 12. The late Captain Macmillan came of seafaring stock and went to sea as a boy. many detail* of his career at sea are known locally, but he.was ohief officer of the Shropshire (now the Rotorua) during tho war. the Shropshire being engaged in carrying troops. For some years he was in command of the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Opawa. In 1027 ho took command of. the Federal steamer Cumberland. He retiied from service at sea because of illhealth and was in his early 'fifties at the time of his death, lie is survived by his wife.
