ALPINE SPORTS CLUB.
SOCIAL EVENING HELD. A programme of interesting entertainment was provided at the monthly club evening of the Alpine Sports Club, held in the Lewis'Eady Hall yesterday. Mr. W. 11. Coclter presided in the absence of the president, Professor R. M. Algie. Included among the guests were members of the Discovery n. In an address on "The Philosophy of the Mountaineer," Miss Greta Faulbaum gave an interesting review of various books in the club library. A series of Canadian films, wild life and scenery, was given by Mr. h'. W. Delph, whose photographs of Canadian scenery, which he presented to the club, were posted round the walls and occasioned much interest from members.
A brief programme was contributed by Miss Sybil Phillips, who sang "The Dawn has a Song"; Mr. G. C. Laird, who sang "I'm Only an Old Rough Diamond";. Mr. E. Axford, who gave conjuring items; and Mr. L. Kenderdine, who rendered flute solos. The accompanists were Miss Joyce Rowley, Miss Nora Phillips and Miss Betty McGregor. Supper was served during an interval in the programme and dancing concluded the evening. Among those present were:—Mrs. W. J. A. Thomson, Mrs. N. H. Goode, Miss Betty McGregor, Miss E. V.
