MATCH AGAINST OTAGO.

FALCON CUP COMPETITION. Confirmation of August 6 as the dale for tho English trophy match between Auckland and Otago. to be played at Dunodin, was received from the latter association at last evening's meeting of the control board of the Auckland Football Association. It was resolved to appoint Mr. A. E. Backhouse, tho sole selector, as manager of the Auckland touring team, which will consist of 12 players. Tho Parakoa School, Whangarei, wrote asking the association to donate a trophy for a Soccer competition among girls' teams. It was decided to refer the request to tho Herbert Smith Trust. Tho committee resolved to commence the Falcon Cup competition on August 6. On tho recommendation of the senior division committee the application for the transfer of F. E. It was reported to tho New Zealand Football Association Council this eveninc that the Otago Association had made a profit of £9O on tho two Football Association trophy games, and the council received £l7. The Wellington Association wrote that Otago was willing to visit Wellington to pluy for the Football Association trophv if Auckland did not win on August 6. No fee was received, so the challenge was not in order. A challenge was received Irom Canterbury again to play Otago for the trophy. Tho challenge was forwarded to Otago for acceptance. The match, Otago v. Atickland, at ©unedin on August 6 for the trophy was approved. The primary schools tournament is to be played in Wellington during the last week in August, and the secondary schools tourney at Wanganui in the same week.
