YOUNG WOMAN'S CONDUCT.
EMPLOYER'S MONEY STOLEN.
PROBATION FOR TWO YEARS.
A young woman, whose name was ordered to be suppressed, appeared before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in tho Police Court yesterday, for sentence on two charges of stealing sums of money totalling £l4 2s from her employer.
In admitting accused to probation for two years, Mr. McKean said it had been reported to him that accused had been associating with a married man and this association had to cease. "I understand," he continued, "that most or part of the money stolen, went toward keeping this man. That is regrettable, and it ig a pity that the man concerned cannot be brought before me." As accused was a first offender the magistrate consented to make an order for the suppression of her name. She was directed to make restitution.
