OPERA SINGER'S RETURN.
FORMER WANGANUI RESIDENT] HOLIDAY VISIT TO DOMINION. After three years in Italy, during which she has studied music > and appeared in grand opera, Signora Marotta, formerly Miss Eva Webb-Jones, of .Wanganui, returned to New Zealand yesterday by the Maunganui. She is accom* panied by her husband, Signor Nino Marotta, to whom she was married four years ago when he was a member of th» Toti del Monte Opera Company. They will spend a six months' holiday in the Dominion.
Signora Marotta studied singing for some time at the Sydney Conservatorium.* After her marriage she completed her musical studies at Milan, under Maestro Rossi, director of the Imperial Gr'and Opera Company, and three months ago made her debut in grand opera. Signora Marotta spoke enthusiastically of artistic, cultural and musical life in Italy,' and'paid tribute to the progress of the country under Signor Mussolini's rule. ;
