TICKET FROM BRIDGE WINNINGS. [BY TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] CHRISTCHUKCH. Tuesday. : A lucky night at bridge has led to a resident of Christchureh winning £SOOO in' Tattersalla. The fortunato man, who prefers to remain Air. "11. E.R.," under which initials ho took tho ticket, was interviewed this morning at his residence ' in Walpole Street, Waltham. ; "It is a funny thing tho way I bought the ticket," ho said. "I belong to a bridge club, where I plav every week for 3d a hundred. F6r. live or six weeks' I never won a penny. Then about a fortnight ago I had a really lucky night. I won 7s 9d, and thought I would havo a ticket in Tattcrsalls. I began to think it had missed. "I am very pleased to receive tlie money," ho said, as ho produced tho ticket from a. battered leather wallet. "It will come in very handy in these strenut ous times. I havo no plans for , tho future. I suppose it was bound to come, for I had been taking a couple of tickets in Tattersalls ever since it started. It is a strange thing that this should come just a fortuight after I had retired after® 51 years' service with tho same firm. Of courso, with the exchango and othor tilings, the sum is more likely to be £4300 than £5000."
