MINE WORK CURTAILED.
THE WARO COLLIERIES. MISHAPS TO THE PLANT. [from our own correspondent.] "WHANG-ABE I, Saturday. As a result of the burning out of <*ie of the motors of the pumps, at the nrm6 of Waro Co-operative Collieries, at Hikurangi, the mine did riot'work for the production of coal for two days this week. Another pump had to be moved in and another motor installed. In spite of the mishap it was found possible to keep the water from rising in the mine. Another mishap was the burning out of an auxiliary fan motor. This fan was used for ventilating, a portion of the-mine in the pillar section, and as a result of the mishap it was pecepsary to withdraw the men until the damaged fan motor had been replaced. The mishap occurred on Wednesday, and this sfiction of the mine was idle until the following day, when 1 repairs were effected. As a result of these mishaps the output of coal from the mine for the week was considerably diminished.
