A SPONTANEOUS TRIBUTE,
[by telegraph.—-special reporter.] TE AROHA, Friday.
The remarkable degree of popularity which the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and the Lady Bledisloe have won for themselves in New Zealand was strikingly indicated by the residents of Te Aroha this evening. In the past four days of the "Vice-Regal tour His Excellency has delivered about 30 , addresses to residents of farming districts and his unswerving interest in the welfare of farmers has everywhere been the subject of public and private commendation and appreciation.
At the conclusion of Lord Bledisloe's address in Te Aroha this evening tha audience broke into vociferous applause, stamping and cheering spontaneously. They took up the refrain, "'For He's » Jolly Good Fellow," which was changed after a rousing chorus to, "They Are Jolly Good Fallows," the latter being vigorous acknowledgment of the Lady Bledisloe's keen and helpful support, which His Excellency himself ha 3 everywhere acknowledged.
