REDUCTION IN RATES.
GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.
At a meeting of the Glen Eden Town Board on Monday evening, a reduction of approximately 10 per cent, in the hospital, special and general rates, was decided upon. The estimates for the ensuing year wcro adopted. In connection with a deputation from tho Glen Eden Progressive League, which had waited on tho board with requests for an increase in tho number of police stationed in tho district, and the establishment of a fire brigade, it was stated that steps had already been taken by tho board to provido a brigade, but the financial position militated against any definite action being taken. The Superintendent of Polico had advised that ha was unablo to promise an increase in tho existing staff of polico. •;
