RELIABILITY TRIAL.
MOTOR-CYCLISTS' TEST.
NEW PLYMOUTH AND BACK.
Seven riders took part in the annual reliability trial organised by the Auckland Sports Motor-Cvclc Club during the week-end. Tho event commenced on Friday, the courso being to New Plymouth and back.-
The riders left Auckland at eight o'clock on Friday morning and five reached New Plymouth the samo evening. Easy-start-ing tests were held on Saturday morning, the riders later commencing tho return trip. One of the competitors, E. Bowden, had his machine damaged when ho was charged by a herd of steers on Mount Messenger, and so abandoned tho course, arriving in Auckland well ahead of the others. The first riders to finish were G. Ilowlett h.p. Sun) and G. Sutherland (5-6 h.p. Indian), who arrived at the foot of Parnell Iliso at 6.30 on Saturday evening. Neither lost marks for any fault in his machine, hut the results will not be available until details of times between the various towns have been worked out and tabulated.
