LOYAL CELEBRATIONS.
THEIR MAJESTIES AT RACES.

King George, who celebrated his 67th birthday to-day, received congratulatory telegrams from all parts of the Empire. His Majesty spent the morning at Buckingham Palace, where he was engaged in routine duties. Later he drove with the Queen to Epsom to witness the race for the Oak Stakes. A birthday luncheon party was held in the dining room attached to the Royal Box.
Flags wero flown from mastheads and from public buildings, and the customary tribute of honour was paid by the Royal Navy at all home ports. Salutes of 21 gun« were fired in Hyde Park and Windsor Great Park, and 5000 troops took part in the celebrations at Catterick camp.
Sir John Simon, Foreign Secretary, gave a dinner to celebrate the King's Birthday at the Foreign Office this evening, at which foreign Ambassadors and Ministers in London, members of the Cabinet, and others attended. His Majesty, in replying to birthday greetings from the Lord Mayor of London, Sir Maurice Jenks, tendered thanks for the reference to his restored health, and added: -"1 pray I may continue to be given strength to carry on my task and to share in the nation's burdens. I trust the Ottawa Conference will be crowned with success so that a united Empire may once more by its example lead the way to a solution of the grave problems confronting the world."
