COUNTY COUNCIL'S YEAR.
POSITION IN RANGITIKEI. CREDIT BALANCE OF £23,000. [froji our own correspondent.] MARTON, Saturday. The liangilikei County Council has concluded tho year with a credit balance of over £23,000, in spite of the fact that lasfc year a reduction of 22 per cent, was made in rates.
For (he coining year further rato reductions, amounting on tho average to 27 per cent., have been decided upon. Hospital rate reductions aro also contemplated. Over 92 per cent, of the rates levied wero collected.
