EX-SOLDIERS' INTERESTS.

WHANGAREI ASSOCIATION. [from our own correspondent.] WHANGAREI, Saturday. The Whangarei Empire Ex-Services Association held its annual meeting last night., when the president, Mr. J. N. McCarroll, presided over an attendance of 70 members. The financial statement disclosed a satisfactory position. The credit balances on April 1 were, general fund £BS, and distress fund £96. In presenting his annual report, the president said: "In common with the rest of the community I am sorry to state that some of our men have suffered. Every effort is being put forward to help them, and to assist those in need. Every effort is made to assist those applying for pensions, and in many cases good results have been obtained.

The election of officers resulted :—President., Mr. J. McCnrroll; vice-president, Mr. A. D. Jack; honorary secretary, Mr. G. A. Bethell; honorary treasurer, Mr. J. A. West; auditor. Mr. J. W. Mitchell; committee. Sister Collins, and Messrs. H. C. Hemphill, J. 11. Brown, J. Archer and C. J. W. Lockic.

A resolution was carried approving the proposed formation of the Whnngarei Territorial Force Association.
