WEST END CLUB'S RACES. keen contests for trophies. The West End Rowing Club rowed off three sculling trophies—the Bigelow-Farrell Cup the Hanger trophy for first-year obibmen and the H. Schmidt double-scul.ing trophies-yesterday. All the races were handicap events. A feature of _a day s consistently even racins was the fine rowing of J. Craies and J. H. Donovan. Ihe former gained two trophies, while Donovan was runnci-up in the three contests. The semi-finals and finals resulted:-BIGELOW-FARRELL CUP. First Semi-final.—J. H. Donovan, 6s, beat N Ganley, scr, by a length and a-half. Second Semi-final.— J. Craies, bs, beat M Conway, scr, by a length and a-half. After a same fight over tne distance Cities was "just able to draw away from Donovan to win the final by half-a lenfetn. RANGER CUP. First Semi-final.—A.
