RESIGNATION OF DEAN.

Barnett, announced- at St. Peter> Cathedral this evening that he had ten. dered his resignation as vicar of Hamilton and dean of the cathedral. ]jj s resignation will take effect in June. • Dean Barnett will leave to take up work in England at the end of June and will be accompanied by Mrs. Barnett. Dean Barnett was born in Blenheim and was educated at Marlborough College and Victoria College, Wellington, where ho graduated M.A. with first-class honours in mathematics and mathematical physics in 1907. He was ordained deacon by Archbishop Julius in Christchurch in 1910 and was ordained priest in 1912. After returning to New Zealand, Dean Barnett became vicar of Tolaga Bay, and in 1917 ho served as chaplain on a hospital ship between England and New Zcaland.
