AUCKLAND CABARETS.

PETER PAN. Music, gaiety and the murmur of chattering voices greeted arrivals in the subdued lighting that is half shadow at the Peter I'an Cabaret on Saturday evening, when a host of holiday-makers held high revel at this popular rendezvous. Dancers thronged the cabaret and not, even l ' ie owners of sadly-depleted bank rolls after a day at Ellerslie could withstand the infectious spirit of carnival. Almeao, cherry-red satin beaute; Miss Vi Wilson (Wellington), champagne-coloured satin gown; Miss Eleanor Mills (Timaru), blue crepe faille; Miss Nell Butler (Palmerston North), ivory satin beaute; Miss Laura Mappin, pistache-green crepe chiffon studded with rhinestones; Miss Noel Self, pale buttercup-yellow satin beaute with shoulder draperies; Miss Betty McClellan, black moire gown with silver rhinestone embroideries; Miss Norah Friedlander, floral taffeta frock; Miss Molly Mitchelson, slim-fitting frock of ivory satin beaute; Miss Joyce Johnston, Japonica-pink pin spot muslin; Miss Vera Sneddon, phlox-pink faille taffeta with deep hem of pink tulle; Miss Betty Manning (Hamilton), black lace and chiffon; Miss Babs Challis, pastel-tinted chiffon frock in floral tones.

DIXIELAND. There was a large attendance of dancers afc Dixieland on Saturday evening and special lighting effects in the cabaret and on the lawns outside were specially attractive. A tap dance by dancers from tlie Jean Home School of Dancing was a special feature of the evening. The excellent music by the Dixieland Dance Band was repeatedly encored.
