I THEFT FROM PAVILION. YOUNG MAN SENTENCED. J A second young man involved in the j robbery at the Auckland Bowling Club's | pavilion on February 6, David Asher, ! aged 21, labourer, pleaded guilty in the Police Court on Thursday before Sir. F. K. Hunt, P.M., to charges of stealing crockery and cutlery valued at 18s 6d and wilfully damaging two padlocks. "Accused, for his age, has by no means a good record," Detective-Sergeant Kelly said. "His companion, who alleged that Asher was the leader in the expedition, was captured when the police investigated suspicious circumstances at the pavilion, but Asher made good his escape." Accused was sentenced to three months' imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to be cumulative. A plea of guilty was entered by a driver. Ernest Clifton Rae, aged 48, who was charged with the theft of a gas stove, valued at 50s from a vacated house. He was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. Convicted of the theft of gum boots valued at 50s, the property of the Auckland City Council, a labourer, James Malonev, aged 61, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
