Mrs. Friend, of Parnell, and Miss Watkin, of California, are on a visit to Rotorua.

Miss Millie Peacock returned to Wellington yesterday from a visit to Auckland.

Mrs. It. J. Coates, of Ranfurly Road, Epsom, has returned from a visit to Gisbcrne.

At a bazaar which was held in aid of Christ Church, Taupiri, over £4O was taken*

The Mother's Club o! the Y.W.C.A. held a " bring and buy" afternoon, which was very successful. Several members quoted " Literary Gems I Love and Why,'s which were enjoyed by all. Afternoon tea brought a pleasant afternoon to a close.

A meeting of the Devonport W.C.T.U. was held on Wednesday. The president reported on the district executive meeting and explained the work of the school of methods committee, which has recently been formed. The Women's Progress Club (Inc.) held its weekly meeting on Wednesday afternoon at the Higher Thought Temple, Wellington Street. The speaker was Mrs. Moller, vice-president, who gave a very instructive talk on " Power." During the afternoon two solos were sung by Mrs. Salisbury Sykes, " When Rooks Fly Homeward," and " A Brown Bird Singing." Tea was served at the close of the meeting.
