POWER BOARD EXCURSIONS.

Sir,—l would like to know why power boards continue to tnake excursions to Arapuni in these times. One appreciates zeal, but only to profession engineers is a visit of any practical value The laymen are just tourists at the public expense. I dare say the Auckland and Central Boards spent the best part of £IOO on their jaunt to Arapuni on Wednesday. lhe money would have been better spent m finding a day's work for 200 poor fellows. I should not bo surprised that the trip was regarded as a meeting within the meaning of the Act, and that the trippers drew their fee as well as expenses. Scrap the Lot.
