PRICES FOR METALS. COPPER AND TIN EASIER. (Received March IS, 9.45 p.m.) LONDON. March 17. (Quotations on March 16 in parentheses.) At the London sheepskins sales to-day 3000 Australian and New Zealand were offered and about 2250 were sold. There was a poor selection of Australian. Both Merinos and crossbreds were from {jar to 5 per cent, cheaper than on January 28. New Zealand fine crossbreds were from par to 5 per cent, cheaper. Medium and low were unchanged and slightly j irregular. Lambs and hoggets were from j par to 5 per cent, dearer. WHEAT, FLOUR, AND PULSE. j Wheat.—Cargoes are idle and unchanged. Parcels are inactive. Manitobas ! are obtainable down, but others are j unaltered. Futures. —London: June, 25s j 8d a quarter; September, 26s 3d. There was poor competition and only 20 per cent, were sold. Hatters' pulling sorts declined 10 per cent, compared with January 14, and unpulled 20 per cent. No furriers' sorts sold. MONEY FOR BUTTER-FAT. THE RAGLAN COMPANY. [from our own correspondent.] RAGLAN, Friday. The Raglan Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, will pay out at the rate of lOd per lb. for superfine butter-fat for the February supply. EAST TAMAKI DISTRIBUTION. INCREASE IN PRODUCTION. A sum of £10.094 will be distributed among suppliers of the East Tamaki Cooperative Dairy Company, Limited, for February supply, as compared with £10,026 in February, 1930. The rate is lOjd a lb., against Is a lb. last year. A total of £104,410 has been distributed by the company during the past nine months. The output of the factory for February was 126 tons of butter, making the total for the season 1204 tons, an increase of 276 tons, as compared with last year. Butter-fat received during last month totalled 231.5131b., compared with 200,6681b. during the previous February. STOCK SALES. TE AWAMUTU QUOTATIONS. . The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, reports that at the Te Awamutu stock sale CP Thursday competition for the average yarding of fat cattle was steady and prices were about on a par with late rates. A good sale was made for a number of pens of weaner heifers, a few pens of 2-year incalf heifers and 2-year eteei'3 at satisfactory prices. A total clearance of the cattle was effected. Light quality ox beef made £4 7s to £4 10s; poorer conditioned, £3 10s to £4 ss; fat cows, £3 10s to £4 6s; lighter quality, £2 15s to £3 7s 6d; light and unfinished, £2 to £2 12s Gd; killable, to £1 18s; stores, to £1 ss; boners, to 16s; potter bulls, to £4; 21-year-old steers, £1 15s to £2 13s; others, to £1 15s; 2-year heifers, in calf, £4 3s to £4 15s; poorer. £3 5s to £4: weaner Jersey heiferSj £1 4s to 2. A large I yarding of fat and store ehee as in keen demand, buyers being founu ior all the offering at prices fully tip to recent quotations. The offering of pigs was nearly up to the usual number yarded and consisted of mainly stores and weaners, and a few porkers. Competition was steady at lata rates. Light porkers, 19s 6d to £1 Is; large stores, 15s to ISs; smaller, 13s to 15s; slips, 8s to 12s; weannis, 5s to Ss. PRICES AT KAUROA. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company. Limited, reports that at the Kauroa stock sale on "Wednesday there was a good entry of cattle and a smaller entry, of sheep. Competition for cattle was not keen, and prices were lower than late quotations. Sheep sold well under good conditions. Values were;— Two-tooth wethers, to 9s lid; five-year owes, 5s 6d; good woolly wether lambs, 7s; store lambs, 5s to 5s sd; cull lambs, 2s 9d to 3s 4d; Romney rams, 10s to 21s; fat cows, £2 2s 6d to £2 18s; medium cows, 35s to £2: good store cows, 21s to 265; boner cows, 10s to ISs; 2}-.vear Shorthorn steers. 80s to £2 Is; yearling steers. 7s fid to ISs: dairy heifers, £3 7s Gd to £4; sound in-calf cows. 29s to 3Ss: potter bulls, heavy, £3 10s to £4 Is; lighter. £1 to £2 15s. SHEEP AT GISBORNE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] GISBORNE, Friday. Declining values for fat eheep and a poor demand for older breeding ewes at the Matawhero stock salo to-day contrasted with brisk buying of store wethers and \ambs and young breeding ewes. The market tor pigs was firm. Fat ewes Tanged in price from 7s 0d down to 5s 6d; wethers to 10s 9d: lambs, Ss '2d to 10s Set; second-grade ewes, 5s Id to 5s 9d; and wet here. Bs. In the storo eheep section breeding ewes from fouryen r to sound-mouth were in poor demand, but wethers, lambs and young ewes sold briskly. Ewes made up to 6s 3d for goodconditioned lots; four and five-year ewes in good store condition. 5s to 5s -Id: fairly good two-tooth ewes, 9s: four-tooth in good store condition, 6s 9d; big forward lambs, 7s 9d; fresh-conditioned two-tooth wethers, Ss 3d. to Ss od; medium wethers, 7s 3d; 6m«ll, 6a 9d. PRICES AT FEILDING. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION*. 1 FEILDING, Friday. At. the stock sale to-day there was a heavy yarding of fat sheep and prices were firm. Best fat lambs made rip to 16s 4d; 2-tooths, to lis 7d; ewes, to 9s 9d; wethers, to 15s. Store breeding ewes, 4 and 5-year, made 10s 3d; ewe lambs, to 9s 9d; wether lambs, to 9s 2d: black-face lambs. 8s 4d. There was a good demand for dairy stock. Cows in milk brought £i 15s: springing cows, £4 17s 6d: springing heifers, £4 17s fid to £6. Fat qows made up to £i 3s Gd: fat heifers, £4; steers, £3 ss.
