" Whether it be Sydney, Nairobi, Christchurch or Calgary, a high standard, a spirit of enterprise and loyalty are always features of the overseas press in which we take special pride," said the Prince of Wales at the inaugural banquet of the Company of Newspaper Makers in the Mansion llou6e. The banquet was attended l>y more than 300 editors and prominent persons.
His Royal Highness added that bis numerous journeys overseas had familiarised him with the Empire's newspapers. His many friends saw that he was kept in touch with what was written and thought in the Dominions and colonies.
" I have come to regard the newspapers as my publicity agents," said the Prince. " I am very grateful for most of my publicity, also for the support given by the press to causes in which I am interested."
