LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS.
POSTPONEMENT SUGGESTED.
SAVING THROUGH SUSPENSION. [FROM our own correspondent.'] CAMBRIDGE, Friday. At this week's meeting of the Borough Council, Mr. M. Wells suggested that ths council should pass a resolution urging the Government to suspend the local body elections for one year at least. Mr. Wells said this would not affect borough councils, but county council elections were due to take place in May. If the elections were not held, it would mean a saving of much money. In the case of county councils, it was not as if there was any likelihood of any great
changes in personnels. The Mayor considered the suggestion would be welcomed in such times as the present, and it was decided a suitable circular should be sent to local bodies.
